Happy Thanksgiving!
It's hard not to be with family on Thanksgiving this year, but this store in the Marais probably makes expatriots feel better. Thanksgiving is essentially an American grocery store with the largest selection of genuine American brands. You laugh at its name, but you have no idea how hard it is to find chocolate chips, oreos, CHEDDAR CHEESE, pumpkin pie ingredients, maple syrup, and various other American staples around here. My friends and I are definitely getting pumpkin pie mix from here for tonight!
On another note, French people have zero idea what "Thanksgiving" is. As a matter of fact, we Americans were trying to explain why we should get a day off from school today to our French class, and the guy sitting next to me got this really confused look on his face and asked, "Zanksgeeving? Mais qu'est-ce que c'est?" Missing out on some good food, French people! Plus missing out on some good deals -- I am SO sad I will not partake in Black Friday this year like I always do.
If you're ever in Paris and in need of American comfort food:
